Loosening pyjama string is 'attempt to rape': SC sets aside controversial Allahabad HC ruling
The Supreme Court has overturned a controversial Allahabad High Court ruling, declaring that groping a woman and untying her pyjama string constitutes an "attempt to rape." The apex court emphasized the need for judicial compassion and empathy in handling sexual offense cases, reviving stringent charges under the Pocso Act. A committee will now develop guidelines to foster sensitivity in judges.
