80th Independence Day celebrations.. Why were they announced at midnight?

It has been 80 years since India gained independence. Independence was declared at exactly 12 midnight on August 14th. It would be a mistake to think that it was declared according to the British time. Our tradition and our beliefs are the reason behind declaring independence at midnight for Indians who were slaves under the British occupation for hundreds of years. The reason for this was that Japan surrendered on the same date during World War II. By 1947, it would have been two years since Japan surrendered.

Keeping this in mind, Jawaharlal Nehru planned to keep the Constituent Assembly going till midnight. Exactly at 12 o'clock, India emerged as an independent country and entered a new chapter. Thus, Nehru showed the country a new direction by saying that India would awaken to freedom while the whole world was sleeping. Free India blossomed at midnight.

Mountbatten, who cannot be called a Sasemira

With this, the Siddhant wrote a letter to Mountbatten requesting him to change the date of Independence Day. He said that there were chances of disasters like floods, drought, and violence. However, when he said categorically that the date could not be changed, all the astrologers started thinking about what to do. Since the arrangements for the Independence celebrations were already being made, they thought that changing the date would not be that easy.

 According to astrology, they started calculating the auspicious time on August 15. They discussed issues like Abhijit Murtham and Pushya Nakshatra and wrote in the book that they concluded that the auspicious time is exactly 12 midnight. According to Western culture, when it is 12 midnight, the date also changes.
