North Dakota breaks with the four-year degree model, clears path for three-year bachelor’s programmes
North Dakota has approved a pilot allowing select public colleges to offer three-year bachelor’s degrees in applied science, cutting credit requirements from 120 to as few as 90. Backed by the State Board of Higher Education, the move aims to lower costs and speed workforce entry, with strict safeguards to maintain academic standards.
